Lights all over the city
I see them all from where I am
Down there the city is roaring
up here I’m damned

The sky is like a big black hole
it surrounds me where I’m at
The clouds can not be seen now
it’s too black for that

Close enough
but far away
Something between
I can’t figure it out

Something is covering
there’s no doubt
